Aminu Abdullahi Yarima, the group bitterly complained on deliberate exclusion of their esteemed members and other PWDs in the just concluded cash distribution exercise by the wards leaders
The statement reads partly;
" we are writing to express our deep concern and disappointment regarding the alleged exclusion of people with disabilities from the cash transfer benefits recently distributed to each of the five wards in Gombe North. "The cash transfer program aims to alleviate poverty and support vulnerable individuals, but its impact is severely diminished when people with disabilities are left out. These individuals often face significant barriers to accessing education, employment, and healthcare, making them among the most in need of assistance"
"We respectfully request that you: conduct an immediate review of the cash transfer program to identify and address the gaps that led to the exclusion of people with disabilities"
"Develop an inclusive plan* to ensure that people with disabilities are included in future benefits and programs. Provide adequate support to people with disabilities in Gombe North, recognizing their equal rights and dignity"
"As a senator, your leadership has the power to promote inclusivity and social justice. We urge you to take prompt action to address this issue and ensure that all constituents, regardless of their abilities, receive the support they deserve" the statement concluded
