Disability Commission, Go-Health Partners to Promote Inclusive Healthcare Package for PWDs in GombeState

As part of their collective efforts to promote inclusive healthcare package for Persons with disabilities in Gombe State, the Gombe State Commission for Persons with Disabilities and Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (GoHealth) has enters into working partnership to booast healthcare access to persons with disabilities in the eleven Local Government Areas of the State. 

The partnership, Ability News Network reports, followed a startegic meeting held by the two institutions  Friday which focuses on deliberating and negotiating the terms of the partnership which is expected to yield positive and long lasting outcome.

Speaking before the Go-Health management, the Executive Chairman of Commission Dr. Ishiaku Adamu commended the Go- Health management for their tremendous support to persons with disabilities in Gombe State, acknowledging that "through the GoHealth Equity Programme, thousands of PWDs across the State were equipped and provided with free healthcare services" 

His words, “For us in the Commission, healthcare is one of the key deliverables of our mandate, as clearly stated in the Gombe State Disability Law signed by His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, in December 2024,”


The Gombe State Commission for Persons with Disabilities top-notch leader further emphasized the gunuine role of agency towards fostering Healthcare inclusion to persons with disabilities in Gombe State by stating that the “GoHealth has been a supportive partner right from when we were just an association"

"And this visit", he added "is to further identify key areas of collaboration.”

Responding, the Go-Health's Executive Secretary Dr. Abubakar Musa, welcomed the delegation and congratulated the Commission for championing the dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities in Gombe State.

“We must ensure that special needs do not limit the potential of our people,”he said.

He added “Inline with Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s vision, we are committed to working hand in hand with the Commission to make sure PWDs live healthy, productive, and dignified lives.”


The new ties is expected to wax stronger especially as both parties agreed to strengthen partnership which is targeted at expanding access to essential healthcare services delivery to PWDs in Gombe State, Ability News Network reports
