PHOTO NEWS; Presidential Aide Partners with Military on OHL Project, Bags Outstanding Performance Award

The Special Assustant to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities Matters Hon. Abba Mohammed Isa, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Nigerian military to kickstart the newly launched "Beyond Disability Project" through a socially responsive programme titled "Operation Heroes Legacy (OHL) an empowerment programme specially designed for the  wounded military veterans who have risked their precious lives depending the country and sustained various degrees of physical injuries.

 This was disclosed in a  statement posted by the SSA on his social media handle (Facebook) seen by the Ability News Network.

In the statement the Presidential Aide noted "I have partnered with the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, on "Operation Heroes' Legacy" (OHL) to support Nigerian veterans. This project is an offshoot of the Beyond Disability Project, which was launched by President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on July 22 at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Aso Villa, aiming to empower over 5,000 Persons With Disabilities and generate over 36,551 job opportunities across the country"

He aded, "the OHL aligns perfectly with President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda and his vision for an inclusive and equitable society, where no one is left behind. Through this project, we aim to provide comprehensive support services to wounded veterans"

According to him, the comprehensive support services for the OHL programme would cover a wide range of socially deriven services including tbe improved healthcare access and mental health support, empowerment through education, skills development, and economic opportunities, establishment of  a Memorial Hall of Fame, educational scholarships for veterans' children and dependants, producing a documentary on Nigerian veterans, among other social support.

The Presidential aide after receiving the coveted award of outstanding service to the country from the military heirachy, further highlighted the phase through which the proposed OHL project could be attained. 

He noted, "to ensure the success of OHL, Gen. Musa and I have agreed to set up a bilateral committee consisting of nominees from both our offices to champion the implementation of the project"

"The Chief of Defence Staff has also directed the Department of Wounded Veterans to collaborate with my office on realizing the objectives of the project" he added

Expressing gratittude to the military authorities for recognizing his immense contributions to the development of humanity in Nigrria, the Senior Special Assistant to the president said in an extotic mood,  "I'm honored to have received the military emblem of honor from Gen. Musa, symbolizing our commitment to this noble cause"
