The National Commission of Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) has collaborated with Soteria-Afrique and Poverty and Disability Initiative in Nigeria (PADIN) to launch yet another free medical outreach for persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Abuja on Wednesday.

This was disclosed to general public by the Executive Secretary, National Commission of Persons with Disabilities ,(NCPWD) Dr. James Lalu Ph.D
In a statement he shared on hid social media handle, Lalu stated, "yesterday, i was privileged to launched a free medical outreach for persons with disabilities in Abuja, in collaboration with Soteria-Afrique and Poverty and Disability Initiative in Nigeria (PADIN)"
"The programme provides comprehensive healthcare services, including free consultations, lab tests, medications, and surgeries, as well as telemedicine services"

He added, "i also emphasized the Commission’s dedication to quality healthcare services for persons with disabilities and that we are working towards establishing a local clinic to ensure continuous and sustainable healthcare access and addressing common health issues to prevent deaths from tropical diseases"
Emphasizing the NCPWD's commitment to providing accessible healthcare package to PWDs in Nigeria, Lalu noted "i also highlighted the Commission’s commitment to improving infrastructure, including providing transformers and renovating a Skills Training centre at the karonmajigi disability community while noting that Nigeria has a significant population of persons with disabilities and that the Commission is committed to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of enhancing the local economy and reducing the importation of assistive devices through establishing local factory through direct foreign investors we are ready to invest 20 billion Naira"
"'The Commission remains dedicated to supporting the disability community through various initiatives and partnerships to enhance their quality of life" Lalu said
