Penultimate Saturday was a joyous day for the entire members of Deaf Community of Jigawa state as they wake up to the buzzing news of appointment of a brand new chief of the Deaf ( Sarkin kurame) for Kirikasamma LGA by the District Head of Kirikasamma in his palace.
The news of the colourful turbuning ceremony of the new monarch was announced by the Secretary General of Jigawa state Association of the Deaf (JSAD) Musa Abbas Balele on Sunday.
While announcing the development on his social media handle (Facebook page) Balele who represented the JSAD and Jigawa state chapter of Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD) stated "yesterday" I had the honor of attending the turbaning ceremony of the newly appointed Sarkin Kuramai of Kirikasamma LGA"
"I represented both the Jigawa State Association of the Deaf and the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, Kirikasamma Chapter"
According to him, the event was graced by notable dignitaries, including emirate officials such as Hakimin Kirikasamma, Hakimin Turabu, Chairman of Kirikasamma LGA, Hon. Muhammad Maji Wakili Marma, members of the Deaf community from various wards of the LGA, among others, and everyone expressed great joy over this significant occasion"
"The dignitaries shared valuable advices with the new monarch regarding the welfare and inclusion of the Deaf community in Kirikasamma"
The JSAD Scribe further used the opportunity availed him to on behalf of JSAD community express unreserved commendation to those who identify with the Jigawa state Deaf community by gracing the memorable occasion in person
He said, "we also expressed our gratitude to the Hon. Chairman for his love and consideration in addressing our requests. We also prayed that the appointment of the new Sarkin Kuramai of Kirikasamma brings progress and inclusivity to the Deaf community at large"
