The Oyo state Governor, His Excellency Seyi Makinde has been commended for prioritizing workers welfare in Oyo state.
A Disabily Rights Advocate named Ambassador Oyedeji Olusegun Abayomi, made the commendation Saturday while appreciating the governor's renewed commitments to the overall development of the State.
While noting Governor Seyi Makinde's commitment to workers' welfare in Oyo State Abayomi described Governor Makinde's gesture as truly commendable.
He said, "by approving a minimum wage of N80,000, which surpasses the federal government's minimum wage, Governor Makinde has demonstrated his dedication to improving the lives of workers, including those with disabilities in Oyo State"
Stressing that "this move has been widely celebrated among Oyo State workers and reinforces Governor Makinde's reputation as a champion of workers' welfare"
Highlighting the Governor's notable achievements in office Abayomi listed key areas he believed Governor Makinde's administration performed excellently which, according to him include but not limited to the following:
Timely Salary Payments:
Civil servants in Oyo State receive their salaries by the 25th of every month, a feat unmatched in many other states.
Enhanced Workers' Welfare:
Governor Makinde's Administration has made significant progress in pension and staff salary payments, ensuring that workers, including those with Disabilities, receive their due benefits.
Disability Inclusion: The Governor's commitment to Disability inclusion has earned him recognition and praise from Ambassador Oyedeji Olusegun Abayomi, a renowned Advocate for disability rights.
Economic Growth: Under Governor Makinde's leadership, Oyo State's economy has grown from N2.75 trillion in 2019 to N4.05 trillion as of Q3 2022, making it an attractive destination for investors.
